Disney is in extreme trouble, from having its streaming service; Disney+, losing millions of dollars, to attendance at its parks dropping a lot since the pandemic. The Disney Board of Directors is faced with urgent problems, and they need to collaborate to solve them. Work together with other delegates, and solve crises and the critical issues within Disney to save the company.
Approximate Committee Size: 20 Delegates
Disney has started to invest more into their streaming services, but Disney+ is losing money. Disney’s parks have been and are their main source of revenue, however, Disney’s parks are predicted to drop in attendance. This will significantly impact Disney, and Disney must find a way to expand, before the company crumbles. Delegates need to collaborate to help solve financial problems regarding the parks as well as streaming services to keep Disney afloat.
The pandemic had a substantial impact on Disney’s revenue and Disney’s parks faced many financial issues. Disney’s parks lost , and all Disney parks are currently below their 2019 attendance levels. It was expected that Disney+ would increase, but it did not grow as much as predicted. In this committee session delegates will discuss the decrease in money and customers that Disney has faced over the past few years. They will work to discuss how to overcome this issue and help bring Disney’s income up and bring the company to glory.
Sahasra Polavarapu is an 8th grader here at Model UN. So far experiencing 5 total Model UN conferences she has been doing it since 6th grade. As a club leader she has been teaching a novice 7th grade group during MUN club. Outside of Model UN, Sahasra is a dancer participating in numerous cultural performances; winning awards. Additionally she is an active tennis player as she was on the girls tennis team at Moody this year. Moreover as an artist Sahasras art work has been displayed in the public library. Other than Model UN, Sahasra enjoys public speaking opportunities such as Forensics where she has participated in a few competitions. As your co-chair she's looking forward to seeing you all on conference day!
Emma Stein is an eighth-grade student here at Moody Middle School, and she is so excited to chair for the Disney Board of Directors committee! While this is her first year in MUN she is an experienced leader with a passion for public speaking. She loves to work with her peers and make genuine connections, so she encourages any delegates to reach out if they have questions! Outside of MUN, you can find Emma going for long runs and practicing art. She’s incredibly grateful to be a part of MMSMUN’s 13th iteration and is looks forward to meeting all the delegates! At that, she tells everyone to make their hard work worth it and make this the best conference yet!
