Position Papers

Position Papers should be at least 2 pages in length and should be Times New Roman, 12-point font, and double-spaced. The delegate’s name, position, school, and committee should be at the top of each paper. Papers should be emailed to your chairs by 5:00 PM on April 10th. For any questions, please contact Yuvan Nagireddy, our Director of External Communications(hcps-nagiredyr@henricostudents.org). Delegates must write a position paper if they wish to be considered for awards.

Code of Conduct

All delegates are expected to abide by the HCPS Code of Conduct. Harassment or discrimination by race, age, gender, or sexual orientation will not be tolerated. Delegates who take actions against the honor code will be disqualified and may receive further disciplinary consequences at the discretion of the conference sponsor, the Moody principal, and the principal of the delegate’s school. Parents will also be required to complete a form that confirms their agreement to have their student subject to the behavioral requirements.

Honor Code

Delegates are expected to follow the Honor Code. All work must be your own and cannot be made by someone else or with the use of artificial intelligence.

Plagiarism and AI Policy

Plagiarism will not be tolerated. All delegates must complete their own work. Information used from another source must be cited in MLA 9 format. Position papers that contain no sources shall be marked as plagiarized and will be subject to investigation. The delegate may be disqualified if plagiarism is found.

The use of any sort of Artificial Intelligence shall not be tolerated. If a delegate has a paper that shows instances of AI-generated content, the paper will be subject to further investigation. The delegate may be disqualified, and further consequences may occur, subject to the conference sponsor, the  Moody principal, and the principal of the delegate’s school.
